The Marston Makerspace plays a vital role in supporting hands-on learning and innovation at UF. Every day, around a hundred students from across the university come into the space to create and learn. Students of all majors come together to learn technical, creative, and problem-solving skills for personal projects, entrepreneurial pursuits, and coursework. The makerspace provides equitable access to valuable learning opportunities through workshops, activities, technologies, tools, materials, and expertise that may otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable.
Data has shown that demand for these opportunities continues to grow. The makerspace regularly operates at capacity, and the need for support, equipment, materials, and programming increases each year. Donations to the Marston Makerspace help expand access to these experiences, reduce barriers to participation, and ensure that students from all backgrounds can continue to learn, create, and innovate.
