What DON’T we have?

Paint or clay

Because we don’t have a sink! We have some acrylic paint markers, but if you’re looking for bottles of paint or studio pottery, check out the Arts & Crafts Center in the Reitz Union.

A spray booth

Unfortunately we don’t have the ventilation set up for a spray booth, and we no longer have direct access to the outside. However, if you are willing to walk around, we can always give you some old cardboard to put underneath your project while you go somehwere outside to spray!

Resin 3D printing

It’s toxic and messy and requires advanced ventilation. Check out the UF DCP Fab Lab to use their resin printing service!

Metal 3D printing

This is a very intensive process that we don’t have the room or supplies for in our tiny space. But do you know who does? The UF DCP Fab Lab does! Check out the UF DCP Fab Lab to use their metal 3D printing service!

Laser Cutting/Engraving

Unfortunately we do not have the ventilation required for laser work, however the UF DCP Fab Lab does! Check out their page for their laser cutting and engraving services!

Large format CNC Router

We have a mini CNC desktop router for very small projects, however you will need to go to the UF DCP Fab Lab for larger routing projects (and you can even use their waterjet cutting service for cutting metal!). They have all of their service fees/pricing on their website.

A woodshop

We have a Dremel rotary tool, a drill, and an oscillating tool, but that’s as powerful as it gets. If you need a drill press, band saw, sanders, etc., we encourage you to visit Gainesville Hackerspace during their weekly open house on Tuesday evenings, starting at 7 PM. Non-members are welcome during open house, with plenty of helpful folks ready to assist.

Extensive jewelry-making supplies

We have assorted pliers that might meet your needs, but jewelry crafters will have a better time at the well-equipped Arts & Crafts Center in the Reitz Union.

Odorous supplies

No spray paint, acetone, rubber cement, epoxy, polyester resin, Bondo filler, etc. We’re a small busy space and nobody wants a headache. If you bring any of these supplies for your project, please refrain from using them indoors, and save that portion of your project for outside!
