Thank you to everyone who filled out our feedback forms and our surveys on how to improve the makerspace!
The data:
- Last academic year (Fall 2025-Spring 2026) showed a 76% increase in use compared to the previous academic year
- We averaged 100 ins/outs per day
- Due to capacity, we had to close the door on average 10 times per month
- 22 people surveyed said capacity/crowding was an issue for them
- 31 people surveyed said they wanted more hours, and 17 people said they wanted a bigger space
Based on the data collected, we concluded that the most immediate way to address user constraints and improve access was to extend operational hours.
So now, we are happy to say, we will be open Monday-Friday from 12pm-7pm!
We hope this change will reduce peak-time crowding and distribute usage more evenly. We will continue to collect data this academic year as well, so be sure to help us with feedback and your opinions on how to improve the space!
